SIMA 2015 PARIS-NORD VILLEPINTE
The SIMA, International Exhibition for Agricultural Machinery held at Villepinte, about 20 km North of Paris, every 2 years, is intended primarily for professionals, unlike the International Exhibition of Agriculture, which targets the general public every year, more oriented products of agriculture and livestock. In fact, SIMA is visited by thousands of young and not so young people visitors who are not necessarily professionals. SIMA 2015 recorded 238,848 professional entries whose 23% from the international from five continents, for 1740 exhibitors, including 50% abroad.
SIMA was born in 1922, the same time and juxtaposed to the Agricultural Show in Paris, at Parc des Expositions, Porte de Versailles in intramural Paris. Then, SIMA was held in Villepinte fairgrounds, bigger, for the first time in 1992.
SIMA is a place of meetings and exchanges for operators of crop but also for farmers with livestock part of the show, the Simagena.
On this occasion are given the SIMA Innovation Awards, which reward every 2 years the best technological innovations in each sector. This year, Claas presented a panoramic cabin, Gold Medal, and John Deere a precision seeder at high speed, Silver Medal.
Tractors and some other agricultural machines are high-tech vehicles and generally designed to move in mud, marshy terrains or slopes. They are all-terrain and often unusual.
