This is one of the largest exhibitions of construction and equipment, every 3 years in Paris-Nord Villepinte, alternating with the Bauma in Germany and Connexpo in Las Vegas.
Before 1988, this exhibition was called 'Expomat' and stood at Paris-Le Bourget Park.
The Villepinte Exhibition Park represents a total area of 135 ha, managed by Viparis with demonstrations, outside, of construction machinery, excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders or tracked, bulldozers, compactors, trenchers, dump trucks, crushers. Covered surfaces represent 242,000 m² spread over 9 halls, which puts this park to 6th European place behind Hanover, Milan, Frankfurt, Cologne and Düsseldorf. Leading manufacturers around the world were present.
The Innovation Award are presented annually. The category of building equipment included for Intermat 2015 : the 803 Dual Power from Wacker Neuson, with electric motor and hydraulic pumps on interchangeable trailer for inside work, the M-TSS of Merlo with indicator of moment of lateral and longitudinal load coupled to prevent tipping. The LiUP Liebherr is equipped with an elevator inside the matt for the operator.
Intermat, from 20 to 25 April 2015, received 183 000 entries, slightly down (-8.5%) compared to 2012, a record year. 35% of visitors come from 169 countries worldwide. 1450 companies exposed (+5%), including 67% from international.
It exists an ‘Intermat Middle-East’ in Abu Dhabi.
According to the General Commissioner of the exhibition, Intermat 2015 was the running of a recovery announced internationally, also thanks to highly qualified visitors and project holders.
The presented rolling equipment includes many off-road vehicles but also numerous fixed machines or suitable only on hard and flat surfaces.
