Vympel 8x8 of ONG Vympel near Moscow, since more than 25 years, is articulated with positive pitch control and independent suspensions on 8 wheels. A version is built with pendulums for better cross country mobility.  The former version (2016) had leaf springs. This configuration of articulated 8x8 is quite rare. Low pressure tires (0,29 kg/cm²) are chosen instead of tracks because they don't destroy permafrost in summer : heavy loads can be transported even in summer by land, without using a rotorcraft. Chelyabinsk Articulated 8x8 Vehicle 1950-51

Tchelyabinsk articulated 8x8 vehicle, 1950-51. Built at the Bureau of Hydraulic studies of Tcheliabinsk GSKB ChTZ tractor plant by Nikolaevich Melnichenko, designer of ChTZ. Made of aluminum, 600 kg, the transmission is hydrostatic with 8 hydraulic motors and chassis is articulated in yaw.
