KID 8x8 AATV was designed in 1970 by Kinetics International Division of LVT Aerospace Corporation for civilian South East Asia market, but ended. The plant was at Tyler, Texas, and the product presented to US Military. They declined. With remaining parts KIDS were built to Harper, Kansas and sold during 4 years. Fabo 748 8x8 amphibian, 950 kg payload for 1500 kg total mass. Hydrostatic transmission and 1300 cm3 42 hp Renault engine allowed 45° slope and moving in muddy grounds, snow or sand. It was presented at Genova Motor Show in 1974. Due to some technical transmission problems, the project, started in early 1973 and headed by MM. Rödiger and Peter Larice was cancelled in October 1974. The two prototypes of Fabo 748 were manufactured by Fahrzengbau AG, Otelfingen, Switzerland, which had assembled 300 'Swiss Buggy' in 1973. In 1975, René P. Schmidt converted the company into Renesco Garagentriebe AG and in 1980, he created Rascor AG now became a pioneer of the seal.http://www.motorbase.com/manufacturer/by-id/977978442 |
