General Motors articulated AGL-4 prototype was produced about 1965 by GM Defense Research Laboratories, Santa Barbara, California. A 6x6 version has been also built. See chapter : 6x6 articulated vehicles, medium. M G Bekker headed these laboratories from 1963 to1973 to study the Moon Rover. Bekker was the best off-road expert and defender of articulated vehicles in the 60s and 70s. He wrote many books and articles. Meanwhile, nowadays, almost only earth-moving and forestry equipment use an articulated chassis.
