Oliver-Cletrac OC-4 and OC-6 Florida Swamp Special with high ground clearance (upper). Below right is the OC-6 crawler, 1956. The HG tractor (picture below) was built until 1951 was and replaced by the OC-3, similar. HG and OC-3 were built from 1939 to 1956 when Oliver introduced the OC-4. In 1960, White Motor Company acquired Oliver Corporation and Minneapolis-Moline in 1963. Due to bankruptcy and after 3 buying back, White Corporation fell into AGCO company (Allis Gleaner Company) which still exits. The last Oliver named tractor was built in Charles City, Iowa, in 1976. From 1954 to 1959, about 1.456 crawlers were built. http://www.farmcollector.com/tractors/oliver-cletrac-hg-68%5C, http://aumannauctions.com/index.php?subp=1&sct=2&pg=ap&pid=1219, http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=oliver&th=106395, http://www.tractorfriends.org/tractorsengines/buddyscrawlers/buddyscrawlers.html |
Oliver-Cletrac HG-68 tractor, 1948. It could be ordered with center-to-center track width with 4 dimensions, using the tractor in limited spaces, in row crop work or on steep slopes. These little machines founded many uses in both agriculture and industry. The elevated sprocket of the Oliver-Cletrac HG-68 tractor Hi-Crop, 1949, on right, allowed more ground clearance for cultures. Cleveland Tractor Company, Ohio plant, began in 1911 and built the HG from 1939. Cletrac was bought by Oliver in 1944. https://classicdozers.wordpress.com/dozer-gallery/cletrac-oliver/ |
