Prinoth P 15. Ernst Prinoth, an engineer, skier and racing driver, opened a garage in Gardena (South Tyrol) in 1962 and started selling P 15 articulated groomer in 1964. World Championships in Val Gardena in 1970 in South Tyrol made know its groomers in the world : P 15, P-4, Big and Junior models. He died prematurely at 58 at Innsbruck in 1981 and his son Erich took over the torch. The Prinoth T2 fitted with hydraulic transmission was marketed as personnel transport. The T 3, T-4, T-4S groomers were unveiled. An agreement with Hägglunds, of the Asea group, allowed building articulated vehicles Prinoth TL and TS but finally Erich Prinoth allied with Leitner of Sterzing. Subsequently, he presented the very modern (not articulated) Big Prinoth groomer in 1990, the LH-500 of Leitner, his partner, in 1998, the 400 hp Everest and then the Prinoth Leitwolf groomer in 2002. Acquisition of the Camoplast groomers in 2005 (originally Bombardier) and in 2009 (industrial vehicles Bombardiers of Granby, Canada), strengthened its positions. The groomer 'The Beast' was launched in 2009. Prinoth exports its production to the United States, Canada, France, Austria, and of course Italy.
In 2011, Prinoth signed an agreement with AHWI, forester and manufacturer of brush cutters. It created a service of vegetation management and development of biomass solutions.
Today, the HTI group, headquarters in Sterzing, Italia, groups together manufacturers of cable cars (Leitner), snow groomers, caterpillar vehicles (Prinoth), urban transport systems, energy subsidiaries and wind turbines.
